Now this is pretty much a first. Though Bhatts have been time and again accused of picking plots and at times even scripts of Hollywood films as well as ones coming from the Far East, they have always managed to escape scot-free. However, call it a desire to credit the source or being cognizant of the fact that in this cyber savvy world it is hard to escape from lift of any shape or size, Bhatts have done the unthinkable. They have now declared that their next biggie, Murder 3, would be a remake. Not just that, as the announcement has come in even before the film has gone on floors.
"Yes, the film is a remake of an international successful film. Whether it is a Hollywood, Korean or some other language film would be revealed once the film goes on floors. However this time around, Bhatts have no intention to conceal the source. This is what Vishesh Bhatt, who is making his debut as a director, wanted as well. He belongs to the current generation and wants to start on a clean slate", informs our well placed source.
While this does come as a surprise, it is not shocking since Murder 2 was widely criticized for being a remake of Korean film Chugyeogja. Before that even Murder (Emraan Hashmi, Mallika Sherawat) had its source in Hollywood hit Unfaithful. Though Bhatts never came in open to address the accusation, the films' super-success only resulted in the controversy dying its natural death. However. for Randeep Hooda-Aditi Rao Hydari, the source is pretty much being declared well in advance.
On contacting, Mahesh Bhatt, who would be presenting the film, didn't deny the developments. He said, "Yes, Murder 3 is a remake but don't ask me the name of the film as yet. Along with Fox, we have already procured the rights of the film. However, just is the case with all our films, even Murder 3 would be soaked in Indian sensibilities and we would be bringing all the necessary changes. Moreover Vishesh is fresh blood and he would be giving his own touch to the film."

We would like to see that as well.
